Competition/Regattas
SHHS Raider Crew is part of the Midwest Scholastic Rowing Association, which includes 50 high schools in Ohio, Michigan, Eastern Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Indiana. One of the exciting aspects about crew is traveling to regattas. All spring regattas are at out-of-town locations. Our river is "too crooked" to sprint race 1500 meters. Cleveland has one fall race, the Head of the Cuyahoga, in September. Regatta locations generally include Columbus, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Toledo. During the winter, we compete in two indoor rowing competitions, or "ergattas."
